By donating body fluids and tissue, each patient or participant makes an active contribution to advancing medicine, particularly in basic research and the understanding of diseases.
Donors can withdraw their consent for the storage and use of their biosamples and associated data at any time, without giving a reason. A withdrawal has no disadvantages for the donor.
In the event of withdrawal, all biosamples that have not yet been used and personal data, including genetic information, will be destroyed. However, scientific analysis data that has already been collected may continue to be used in anonymized form, i.e., without any possibility of tracing back to patients/donors.
